Mixed Media Paintings

I am a mixed media artist. I work with many different materials and combinations of materials in my art including acrylic paint, encaustic wax, alcohol ink, pastels, photographs, ephemera, fabric, cardboard, canvas, markers, and pencils, etc.. My process is intuitive and spontaneous. The goal of my art is to touch something joyful in the heart of the viewer. My pieces are colorful, multi-layered, and textured in one form or another. My strong connection to color and nature is an ongoing theme in my work. I work on many pieces simultaneously which keeps the process fresh and exciting for me. I enjoy singing and listening to music while I am working, and I often dream about my work: the subjects, techniques and/or composition solutions. My work is locally sold exclusively at Swank Coffee Shoppe and Handmade Market in Southern Pines, N.C. (USA).
